Improvement potential for the Otto engine

PrestaDeltaValveControl features substantial improvement potential for the Otto engine. With the application of this system the fuel consumption can be decreased by > 10%. The exhaust gas emissions are reduced as well as the engine noise. There is also an improvement in the engine´s performance by up to 20%, leading to increased driving pleasure. As the engine load is controlled directly at the valve rather than the throttle, the engine response is improved. PrestaDeltaValveControl enables customers to specify their system specification.

Adjustable valve lift control with optimized variability

The continuously variable mechanical valve train system adjusts the valve lift with optimized variability. The system can in addition allow for cylinder deactivation.

No need for controlled build tolerances

The Presta Delta Valve Control variable valve actuation systems are not affected by thermal changes or build tolerances. With cylinder selective load control thermal tolerances and build tolerance are automatically compensated along the length of the engine.

    Self-locking adjustment cams

With the self-locking adjustment cams and short load displacements, high rigidity and high rotation speeds are achievable.

    Adjustment in valve rest interval

The adjustment of the valve height is made during the period of valve zero lift and therefore very low forces are required and a low power actuator motor can be utilized. The system response during adjustment is very accurate and precise. It is also possible to adjust individual cylinders by using actuator motors for each cylinder.

Cylinder selective load control using individual adjusting motors

Selective cylinder load control is used to optimize the engine rotation conformity. Selective cylinder deactivation is possible. PrestaDeltaValveControl offers integrated security redundancy.
