Cost- and noise optimized ‘scissor’ gear wheels

When there is a ‘gear to gear’ camshaft drive system the noise between the intermeshing gearwheels can be reduced by using a ‘scissor’ gear. The cost- and noise optimized Presta scissor gear wheel utilizes only 4 components including the two gearwheel-halves. This reduction of components leads to a cost advantage.
